B.O.S. Releases BOSâNOVA Secure
Four-in-One set of tools provides centrally managed Single Sign On for iSeries
Chicago, Illinois (COMMON Expo), 14 March 2005 - B.O.S. - Better On-line Solutions today released its latest 5250 Client software package: BOSâNOVA Secure. This is an all-in-one solution for totally secure iSeries emulation, delivering security from the workstation through the TCP/IP net to the organisation level. BOSâNOVA Secure employs iSeries Kerberos technology and tools, eliminating the need for application adaptations while preserving the existing system administrator environment.
BOSâNOVA Secure packages the award-winning BOSâNOVA TCP/IP TN5250e Client with 128-bit SSL Encryption, plus a centralized Manager Module and Single Sign On. SSL encryption enables users to take advantage of the encryption available with OS/400 V5R1 or above. The Manager Module allows for control and update of all distributed copies of the BOSâNOVA Secure product, enabling the Administrator to push out configuration, control and updates, and to lock out user changes to the software distributed over the network. Single Sign On (made possible with OS/400 V5R3) is supported on this new Client software with the Kerberos technology, positioning B.O.S. as the only software company in the iSeries market, other than IBM, to offer this powerful feature to its users. Single Sign On allows the user to synchronize his/her authentication on Windows Servers with the iSeries, thereby eliminating the need to memorize multiple user ID and password combinations.
