My keyboard doesn't work at all, the keyboard works fine using the BOSmanager but not at the unit itself.

If there is a USB mouse attached, the mouse type must be set to USB in the terminal properties or the keyboard will not work.  If there is no mouse attached but is set to a PS2 (default) in the terminal properties, the keyboard will not work.

I have a TBT-350, what display or desktop options do I have and where do I change those options?

It can be run in TBT (Text Base Mode), WBT (Windows Based Terminal) or Desktop Mode.  The options can be found in the terminal properties under the desktop tab.

I have a USB mouse and a PS/2 keyboard.  The mouse works fine but the keyboard won't work.

For the keyboard to work correctly with a USB mouse you will need to select USB as the mouse type.  This is set in the INPUT TAB in terminal properties set to USB and test and it the keyboard will work.

How can I change the wallpaper/background and screensaver on the LTCs?

The wallpaper/background can be changed but at this time we don't have a way of changing the screensaver on the LTCs. Here are the steps for setting the wallpaper:

To set the background

  1. Map to a drive which contains the jpeg image to be used.
  2. Open the browser and browse the share then select the image.
  3. Open the image, right click and Save Image As to /tmp/config/files.
  4. Exit the browser.
  5. Reboot and background will be the selected image. Only JPEG format is supported and file size should be < 100K.

Once you set the background on one terminal, you can "clone" it using the BOSmanager.

To get rid of background image... open a shell, use commands rm /tmp/config/files/*.jpg freeze

My users are typing away and get a message about the maximum number of characters exceeded.

They are pressing the record key (ALT F3).  In keyboard mapping, remove the ATL F3 functionality and this should no longer be an issue.

How do I keep my users from changing the properties on sessions either through properties of the ICON or in connections manager?

From terminal properties - security tab, check to Hide connections configuration tab and check Require password to modify configuration and enter a password.  Changes can be made only after the password is entered correctly and the Hide connections configuration tab has been unchecked.

Will my LTC's clock adjust itself automatically for Daylight Saving Time this year?

There is a new version of firmware for the LTCs, it is version 6.0.30 and has the fix for DST and the new RDP client.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!This fix is ONLY for the 2.6 kernel and for 128MB DOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ftp://boswebcom.apollo.uplinkearth.com/LTC-128MB/6.0.30/

Call BOSaNOVA tech support at 866-864-5250 for the user ID and password.

There will not be a fix for the 2.4 kernel.
