BOSmanager
Left hand side under Resources
Every time I try to update my firmware using the BOSmanager it fails.
Expand the tar file to the htdocs directory under the BOSmanager folder. Make certain BOSmanager is running on the PC where the tar file exists. In the LTC go to terminal properties and select firmware and input the IP address of the PC if its not already there. Then click get list and select the the ltc-600 and click upgrade.

What ports does the BOSmanager use?
1680 UDP - for browsing, 23 TCP for uploading and downloading configuration files, and 5900 TCP for VNC.
What is the difference between TBT and WBT mode?
TBT - "Text Based Terminal Mode" = using the unit like a dumb terminal with only 5250 sessions on it.
WBT - "Window Based Terminal Mode" = For use with other connections such as RDP
and has a Graphical interface, uses less resources than desktop mode but is not
as convenient.
What does the "Hide configurations connection tab" do?
It hides the Configuration tab on the WBT/Desktop Connections Manager so users cannot add/remove connections.
In WBT mode hit "F2" key and it will take you in the Terminal Properties then go to the Network tab and select advanced parameters there you can de-select DNS. That is generally a setting you can only change on the BOSmanager if the unit is set for static IP not DHCP.
If the 32mb DoM is having a problem with the BOS-TBT-0303f42.tar firmware file please try applying the BOS-TBT-0303fMod28-BIN.tar firmware, from the ftp site ftp://boswebcom.apollo.uplinkearth.com/TBT/ , first. It will partition the DoM properly to be able to handle the firmware update.
How can I schedule a reboot for all my
units at once?
From the BOSmanager go to Tools and then the Trees tab and check Scheduler.

Restart the BOSmanager and then in the left panel at the bottom of the list you will find the Scheduler option.

Right click on the Scheduler and select to add a power up or power down event. At this point the firmware update option and configuration update option is not yet available.
I could be one of two things. First try restoring factory defaults. If that doesn't resolve the issue, it appears the video on the motherboard needs to be reset. The easiest way to do this is to unplug the unit, open the case and in the center of the motherboard you will see the lithium-ion battery on its side. Next to the battery is a yellow jumper, move this jumper to the next set of prongs for 10 seconds and the move it back, this will reset the unit and you should again get video.
If you have an issue upgrading the Rabbit. You might want to empty the HTDOCS folder. There might be files in this directory that are corrupted and in turn corrupt the image as you send it out.

How can I copy the configuration from one thin client to another using the BOSmanager?

Choose whether this is a Partial or Full Configuration copy.

Right click the same unit again in BOSmanager and choose Configurations -> Download to Device.
I have the option to Add - Add Session - MS Programs but it doesn't seem to do anything.

That option is only available on CE.NET units, not the LTC units.
How do I update the firmware on one of my thin clients?
Download the latest version of BOSmanager from www.bosanova.net.
Download the latest firmware.
Right click on the unit you want to update and select firmware update.

Select BOSmanager and OK.

Find the firmware location and select Open. Be patient as you do not want to interrupt the update or you could corrupt the DOM.

I want to save a configuration file to send to BOSaNOVA support, how do I do that?
From the BOSmanager select the unit to export the configuration file and select File Export Configuration.

You will be prompted for a file name.

Changes have been made to the configuration of the terminal but have not been downloaded to the unit. Right click on the unit, select Configurations then Download to device. Unit will reboot after download.

When attempting to update the firmware I am getting a message that is something along the lines of "Unable to unmount disk partition"
It means either something is running on the unit when attempting to do the firmware update or something has been corrupted on the unit. It needs to be restored to factory defaults and then apply the firmware update.
How do I shadow (VNC) a unit from the BOSmanager?
Select the thin client to shadow. Right click on it, select Special Functions - Shadowing - Full Control.
