How can I display pictures from my display session?
Pictures need to be stored in the BOSaNOVA Web directory/folder in the images/viewer directory/folder.
For this example the image is named BOSUSA5.jpg

The file name must match exactly what will be displayed on the screen to link to a picture. The file name BOSUSA5 will match the BOSUSA5 system name on my screen below.

When I right click on the text BOSUSA5 and select picture - or you can set the display session to default to just right-click

The corresponding picture will display.

It is a "bug" we know about.
Running V5R1 and JDK 1.3 SSL will not start - message in the log is JCE cannot authenticate the provider IAIK java.util.jar.JarException: file:/BNWbserver/iai k_jce_full.jar is not signed by a trusted signer.
The behavior is caused by a expired co-signing certificate. We have received a new signed IAIK jar, and tested it with JDK 1.3.
Please copy it to the Jadvantage/BNWServer root directory at the V5R1 system, close the server using JADEND, and start again.

Windows Version:
BOSaNOVA Web Install Jav1.5.exe
AS/400 or iSeries Version:
Download the zip above, extract files and burn to a CD - install on iSeries using the LODRUN command accepting the defaults.
BOSaNOVA Web won't stay running on V5R3 OS400.
If BOSaNOVA Web server v5.3X does not start
over iSeries V5R3, please follow the steps to analyze the problem:
1. Run BNWLIC, and get the iSeries serial number from it.
2. Run the server in interactive mode:
CHGCURDIR BNWbserver
JAVA CLASS(com.bos.Servers.RunServers) PARM('SN=XXXXXXX') CLASSPATH('./:./servers.zip:./iaik_jce_full.jar:./iaik_ssl.jar:./bsjdvntg.zip')
3. Java version is printed at the Java shell console, is it 1.4.X ?
4. If yes, is the following Java exception printed at the consol:
java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError...
Caused by: java.lang.SecurityException: Cannot set up certs for trusted CAs:
java.lang.SecurityException: Cannot verify jar:file
/QIBM/ProdData/Java400/jdk14/lib/security/local_policy.jar!/
If the answers to the above checklist is yes, than to cure the problem do the
following:
1. Login to iSeries with QSECOFR
2. Copy local_policy.jar from BNWbserver\ext dir to the location that is
specified at the Java console (location might vary from system to system), at
the above sample, it's:
/QIBM/ProdData/Java400/jdk14/lib/security/
I get the BOSaNOVA Web login box but there is a big X in the upper left hand corner.
The PC does not have MS Java installed, which does not come with XP. Need to install program and then you can run the MS Java applet. MS Java download, click here.

When upgrading an OS400 V5R2 to i5OS V5R3, the IBM Java environment might not be ready to run the BOSaNOVA Web server. The Java security libraries are not always installed and adapted. To analyze and fix the problem:
1. Get the Server Java console lines, either from its batch JOBLOG, or by running it in interactive mode.
2. Search for any of the following texts at the Java console:
· “SecurityException: Cannot set up certs for trusted Cas”
· “ExceptionInInitializerError”
· “javax.crypto.Cipher”
· “Jurisdiction policy files are not signed by trusted signers”
If any of those were found, it means that the IBM Java encryption libraries are not installed properly.
Until V5R2 the modules 5722-ACx were not free of charge. For a V5R3 systems, 5722-AC3 (Client Encryption library) is free of charge. 5722-AC2 and 5722-AC3 cannot be installed at the same time.
To support encryption for i5OS V5R3, please follow these steps:
1. Uninstall 5722-JC1 and d5722-JV1.
2. Install 5722-AC3 together with 5722-JC1, d5722-JV1 and the necessary cum and group PTFs.
